When it comes to workplace injuries, some body parts are worth more than others, and these values depend on where you live in the country. When individuals sustain these severe workplace injuries that permanently affect a body part, they deserve compensation. Here, we want to examine the value placed on various body parts that could sustain permanent injuries in the workplace, and we want to compare the Nevada values to the national averages.

Nevada Maximum Workers’ Compensation Per Injured Body Part

How Much a Limb is Worth in Nevada: Workers’ Compensation

When individuals sustain workplace injuries that are so severe that they completely and permanently affect a particular body part, individuals are often able to receive significant compensation for their losses.

Nevada workers’ compensation insurance benefits pay much higher than the national average for nearly every body part that could sustain a permanent injury. The current maximum compensation for each of the following body parts in Nevada is as follows:

  • Arm – $859,634, which is $689,756 higher than national average
  • Leg – $457,418, which is $304,198 higher than national average
  • Hand – $738,967, which is $594,037 higher than national average
  • Thumb – $136,011, which is $93,579 higher than national average
  • Index Finger – $68,006, which is $43,532 higher than national average
  • Middle Finger – $68,006, which is $47,010 higher than national average
  • Ring Finger – $30,912, which is $16,252 higher than national average
  • Pinky Finger – $30,912, which is $19,570 higher than national average
  • Foot – $216,088, which is $124,570 higher than national average
  • Big Toe – $30,912, which is $7,476 higher than national average

The report released by ProPublica allows individuals to view the maximum payout for each state compared to the national average.

The report currently does not have information available for how much Nevada pays for an ear, eye, or testicle that has been lost as a result of a workplace injury. However, the national averages for these parts are as follows:

  • Eye – $96,700
  • Ear – $38,050
  • Testicle – $27,678

Keep in mind that this is the maximum amount paid for damage to each of the injured body parts listed above. Lesser amounts may be offered if medical professionals determine that the body part is not a complete loss but rather a partial loss. A skilled workplace injury lawyer can help you understand how much compensation you may be owed, and they can help obtain the medical assistance needed for your claim.

Working With an Injury Attorney

If you or somebody you care about has sustained a severe workplace injury that resulted in complete disability or loss of a limb, we encourage you to reach out to a skilled workers’ compensation attorney in Las Vegas as soon as possible. These claims are incredibly challenging to move forward with, particularly when it comes to recovering maximum compensation.

When you work with an attorney experienced with handling complex employment injury claims, you will have an advocate with the resources needed to completely investigate the case, enlist assistance from trusted medical experts, and handle all communication with other parties involved. You deserve the compensation you need for the loss of a limb, and you should not have to fight insurance carriers or an employer to obtain this compensation.
